Education is a rare commodity for many children in the Philippines. Everyday, a child in the Philippines is denied education due to the lack of his/her resources: books, transportation and school supplies.
Over 25% don't graduate the 6th grade, and a staggering amount are unable to achieve a basic high school education.
Education = Opportunity. While the lack of education for any specific child is a tragedy, the lack of education on a wide-spread societal level is catastrophic for that country's sustainability. Our involvement can change the course of history for the children, giving back opportunity to those it has been robbed from.
